Exactly what I needed ★★★★★
MIDIPlayer X is a great app for just playing MIDI files, which is exactly what I needed; I have other music apps that can play MIDI files, however, they also do lots of other things, so it is an overkill when I just want to enjoy my MIDI files. Also, MIDIPlayer X uses OS X/macOS’s built-in synth, which is based on (or at least sounds just like) Roland’s Sound Canvas; this is what I used when sequencing my MIDI songs, so MIDIPlayer X allows my MIDI songs to sound just like they do on my external Roland synth, something that GarageBand does not do so well. Great functionality at a great price!
